Through the Hotai eco-lodge, Benjamin offers an “alternative” form of tourism that promotes sustainable development for local communities. His model is based on community involvement, a platform for development and knowledge exchange, and a laboratory for societal innovation. Thanks to Hotai, he has been able to finance the Joal-Fadiouth Marine Protected Area (MPA), among other projects. Benjamin plans to develop a chain of eco-lodges, to create a positive emulation in the tourism sector.
