Launched in 2010 and implemented in four regions of Senegal, this first edition of the Challenge program set out to meet the challenge of employability and entrepreneurship through its Passeport pour l’Emploi and Empacto components, by training young people in the regions of Dakar, Thiès, Kaolack and Saint-Louis.

“Before I heard about Synapse, my job and internship applications went unanswered. But since I followed the PPE program, my professional life has undergone a real change. Now I know how to write my application properly, because after a 95% success rate I get called for an interview. I also know how to behave in interviews and negotiate a salary, and it's thanks to this program that I landed my first job. I have more self-confidence and I'm more motivated to look for work. ”

“Thanks to the Synapse program, I realized who I was, my qualities and shortcomings, but also that I should never give up. The program also taught me how to write a good CV and cover letter, as well as how to prepare for a job interview. That change came when I landed an internship for the first time in my life. This change means opening doors for companies, because at least they'll see that I've got work experience on my CV, and that's something for a job seeker. ” Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

Mohamed DIARRA – PPE

“When I first came to Synapse, I was disorientated, my professional plans were all jumbled up in my head, and I was on the verge of giving up the research career I was interested in, as well as setting up my own business. The training I received at Synapse really edified me; I learned that you always have to give yourself the means to achieve your goals, to be determined, to have self-confidence, to overcome obstacles... I understood that the passion for the job was more important, and through my research I could create the conditions for job creation through the recommendations that flow from it. This means a lot to me, because I live better, I have less stress, I know my objectives, I know how to achieve them, and this gives great meaning to my life. ” Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
