Projet : Assistance Médicale Décentralisée (AMD)
Location :Mali
Presentation
In a country where thousands of people have no access to quality medical care, Dr Garba CISSÉ created Assistance Médicale Décentralisée (AMD) to bring the services of various specialized doctors to socially disadvantaged populations such as women, children, the elderly and those living in remote areas or in detention.
After completing his studies in general medicine in Mali, Garba went on to specialize in obstetrics/gynecology for five (5) years in France. While there, he took part in humanitarian medical missions with the Nobel Prize-winning organization MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières). On his return to Mali in 1993, he worked in referral health centers, and currently officiates in a clinic he opened. He is also President of the Malian College of Ultrasound Practitioners. He also teaches specialization courses at the Bamako College of Public Health.
