For Lassy, leisure tourism must be accessible to all, without discrimination, and practiced in a spirit of solidarity in conditions that are compatible with sustainable development. Lassy’s entrepreneurial challenge, through EcoTours, is to move away from a purely commercial logic and strike a balance between the social, environmental and economic aspects of tourism.

This strong conviction is rooted in his early awareness of the opportunities and drawbacks of tourism in his community. So it was only natural that he should take an interest in the problem and go on to study tourism, graduating with a BTS and doing research on ecotourism in the Saphenous region.

Ecotours is an initiative inspired by the values of social and ecological tourism, which aims to make tourist leisure activities accessible to a greater number of people in all seasons, in quality locations, and to enable host communities to benefit from the real spin-offs of tourist activity.

Ecotours organizes eco-expeditions (trekking, hiking, birdwatching, photo safaris, pirogue trips, wildlife observation, camping, fishing and botany, among others) and accompanies Senegalese pupils and students who need to be made aware of their country’s cultural and environmental issues.
