In this workshop, participants will explore various musical notions such as intensity, duration, timbre, distance and pitch. The programme also gives pride of place to the participants’ musical and general culture by introducing them to musical styles and the great musicians of Senegal in themed workshops. Participants will learn to handle musical instruments, but will also develop their voice and sense of rhythm through different songs.
Specifically through the ‘Artistic Residency’ workshop, young urban music artists have the opportunity to acquire a good grasp of the fundamentals of writing (urban music, Wolof text, structuring and arranging texts, adapting a work, copyright, etc.) and musical creation (sound composition, recording techniques, digital communication, recording, stage performance, etc.).
But that’s not all! Our young musicians will learn how to make a living from their art and their talents by developing a professional project, a business creation project, or simply small initiatives around the music business.
Ultimately, they will be invited to perform as part of community service projects. Make way for social impact, dance and above all… music!
