Program
NAL.
The Naatange Art La programme includes two components of the School Programme: Community Service Projects and Thematic Workshops.
Because it’s important to maintain a spirit of solidarity, Synapse U, through its School Programme, is actively involved in Community Service Projects. This part of the programme took place over 5 weeks in the form of a joint project between Naatangué Art La participants and pupils from various schools, including Lycée John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Groupe Scolaire Seydou Nourou Tall, Institut Cambérène Mubarak, Collège Ndiarka Diagne , Centre Talibou Dabo,CEM Ndiarka Diagne, École les Mamelles, École le Phare,CEM Fadilou Diop, CEM Tijani,Collège Racine School , Collège Sainte Marie, CEM Martin Luther King ,and CEM Mansour Sy.
Once they have set up a project and had it validated by Synapse, they receive a grant to help them achieve their objectives. These projects have taken a variety of forms, depending on the needs of the community: helping the most needy through donations of food and household products, hydro-alcohol gels and masks in the context of COVID; cleaning up public community spaces (parks, schools, etc.).
Community services project

Educating young people about civil status
It was following meetings initiated by the Music cohort of the Naatangué Art La programme with the pupils and administration of the Ndiarka DIAGNE -GOLF school that the issue of civil status was highlighted. The music cohort organised a day to raise awareness of the importance of civil status, particularly for newborn babies, and through music and workshops, raised the awareness of young people so that they could become vehicles for passing on the message to their families.

Sunu Jardin
Because measures to clean up and rehabilitate unoccupied spaces are a good way of combating the habit of turning these spaces into rubbish dumps, the Graphic Design Photo-Video cohort of the Naatangué Art La programme chose to carry out a project based on this issue, with the main players being our partner Africulturban and the Groupe Scolaire Seydou Nourou TALL in Pikine.

Fashion Wednesdays
The need to introduce disabled children to fashion arose following the sharing meetings initiated by the NAL programme’s fashion cohort with the pupils, our technical partner Handi Éco and the administration of the Talibou Dabo centre. These physically disabled youngsters are passionate about fashion, and enjoy creating works of art, sewing and even decorating their environment.

Setsetal
The Setsetal project was proposed and carried out by the Circus cohort of the NAL programme with the assistance of our partner Sen Cirk, the students of John F. Kennedy High School and the school administration. – The aim of the project was not only to clean up the school and the surrounding area, but also to ensure that this became a permanent fixture for the school and the surrounding population long after the project had been completed.
Entrepreneurial Consultant
With a view to providing the necessary tools for success, Synapse set up a forum for discussion led by various entrepreneurship experts who shared their experiences with the members of the Naatangué Art La programme.
Why was it important to have these speakers? Because they had this external perspective, the speakers were able to help the participants in the programme to see things more clearly, to re-evaluate their priorities so that they could achieve concrete and achievable goals. What’s more, listening to someone tell the story of their beginnings is always a source of inspiration, and this inspiration opens up new possibilities for entrepreneurs, enabling them to transcend their individual limitations. These exchanges have helped them to progress towards their objectives, enabling them to turn their projects into reality.
So, for each cohort, there were speakers, and here are a few of them:
